Assistant Professor Paraskevas Gkolfakis graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and acquired the specialty of Gastroenterology at the Hepatogastroenterology Department of the 2nd Propaedeutic Department of Internal Medicine at “ATTIKON” University Hospital. He holds a PhD from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with a grade of "Excellent". He was trained in advanced endoscopic techniques (ERCP, EUS, bariatric endoscopy) at Erasme University Hospital in Brussels, Belgium.

His scientific and academic work focuses mainly on endoscopy and a part of it can be found at https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=zOTjlS4AAAAJ&hl=el.

He is a member of the Editorial Board of four international journals and reviewer of more than twenty.

He is member of the Educational and Guideline Committee of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) and he leads the Quality Improvement in ERCP, ESGE Working Group.
