Department of peritoneal dialysis

The Section of Nephrology, provides clinical care for patients with kidney diseases including diagnosis and management of acute and chronic kidney diseases and dialysis for BPPK and all other departments of the Hospital.

Clinical services include general and specialized clinics that treat common kidney-related diagnoses, including:

• Department Of Clinical Nephrology: The Section Of Nephrology, is the total and sole responsibility for the investigation and treatment of patients admitted with acute and chronic kidney diseases in Β'ΠΠΚ, during the 4-day 24-hours general duties of the Hospital.
• Glomerular Diseases, diagnosis, specialized treatment, and systematic follow-up of patients with primary or secondary glomerular diseases.
• Interventional Nephrology, with two specially equipped rooms, for kidney biopsy performance and placement of temporary and permanent central venous catheters under ultrasound guidance by qualified interventional and nephrologists.
• Dialysis and plasmapheresis section (>900 hemodialysis sessions per month).
• Peritoneal dialysis section, (monitoring of 30 patients from all over Greece).
• Specialty Clinics: Nephrology, Glomerular Diseases, Diabetic Nephropathy, Essential Hypertension, Cardiorenal Syndrome, Genetic Diseases of the kidney, Polycystic kidney Disease, Nephrolithiasis, Onconephrology.
• Renal consultation in all departments of "Attikon Hospital".
• Emergency Department, Diagnostic approach and management of patients with kidney problems, which are examined in the Emergency Room of "Attikon Hospital".

• Study of a phase 3, randomized and double-blind and placebo-controlled, which is designed to assess the efficacy and safety of factor Ravulizumab in adult patients with IgAN nephropathy.
• Safety Profile of SARS-CoV-2 Vaccination in Patients with Lupus Nephritis: A Retrospective Study. Adverse Events Associated With SARS-CoV-2 Vaccination in Patients With Glomerular Diseases and the Potential Risk of Disease Reactivation. The clinical course of SARS-CoV-2 infection patients with glomerular diseases and evaluation of the subsequent risk of relapse.
