Eleni Koukoulioti studied at the Medical School of Athens, from where she graduated with honors in 2008. She then began her residency at the University Hospital of Jena (2nd Department of Internal Medicine) and continued at the University Hospital of Leipzig (Department of Gastroenterology and Rheumatology) in Germany. There, she trained with Professor Thomas Berg in Hepatology and began her PhD on the impact of genetic polymorphisms on the natural history of hepatitis B virus infection. In 2017, she received her residency in Internal Medicine (Medical Association of Saxony). In 2018, she returned to Greece and continued her training in Gastroenterology at the Hepatogastroenterology Unit of the 2nd General Hospital (Attikon General Hospital). She received her Specialty title in Gastroenterology in 2021. Her clinical interest is focused on the field of Hepatology.
