Nephrologist Gounari Paraskevi graduated from the Medical School of the Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1995 with a very good grade. After her field service, she specialized in Clinical Nephrology, which she completed at the General Hospital of Laiko in 2004. Since 2006, she has been a Specialist Nephrologist of the National Health System at the General Hospital of Attikon, while she has been appointed Director of the National Health System since 2017.
She has many years of clinical experience in diseases that concern the entire spectrum of clinical nephrology. She is scientifically responsible for the regular Nephrolithiasis outpatient clinic, which has been running since 2012 with her personal initiative and organization. The clinic monitors chronic patients with hereditary and non-hereditary diseases related to nephrolithiasis.
The clinic conducts a thorough investigation of the etiology and pathogenesis of the disease and provides all the means for its treatment. Also, in 2023, the doctor received official certification for performing kidney-ureter-bladder ultrasound.
