Efstathios Garoflos is a Registered Nurse, a member of the Laboratory Teaching Staff with a grade A, in the Endocrinology and Metabolic Bone Diseases Unit of the 2nd Pre-University Pathology Clinic of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens at the “Attikon” General Hospital. He graduated from the Department of Nursing of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1999. In 2001, he completed the Postgraduate Studies Program “Basic Sciences”. In 2005, he received the title of Doctor of Neurosciences from the Department of Nursing of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, receiving a scholarship from the Ministry of Education. From 2000 to 2007, he worked as a Scientific Associate and from 2007 to 2014 as an employee of the Institute of Internal Medicine of the University of Athens in the Bone Densitometry Unit, in the 2nd Pre-educational Pathology Clinic of the University of Athens ("Evangelismos" Hospital, Eugenideio Therapeutio" and "Attikon" General Hospital). Since 2014, he has been working as a member of the Greek Society of Internal Medicine with grade A, with a field of study in "Endocrinology" in the Endocrinology and Metabolic Bone Diseases Unit of the 2nd Pre-educational Pathology Clinic at the "Attikon" General Hospital. His research interests focus on the investigation of molecular mechanisms involved in the etiology and pathogenesis of various metabolic and endocrine disorders, which are reflected in publications in prestigious international scientific journals and numerous presentations at Greek and international conferences.
