Professor Konstantinos Triantafyllou is a graduate and PhD holder from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a postdoctoral scientist in the study of the gut microbiome at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, LA, CA, USA. He joined the Teaching and Research Staff of the Medical School in 2006 and has been Scientific Director of the Hepatogastroenterology Unit of the 2nd General Hospital at the Attikon University General Hospital since 2007, providing care to gastroenterological and hepatological inpatients and outpatients and clinical assessments to patients admitted to the Hospital, with active participation in the endoscopies and on-call program.

He is an associate editor in three, a member of the editorial board of four others, a reviewer in more than 60 international medical journals and a collaborator in European and American research groups.
He is the Chairman of the Guidelines Committee of the European Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) and a member of its Board of Directors. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Gastroenterological Society in 2020, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Society for the Study of Helicobacter Pylori and Other Digestive Infections in 2021.
