Aristotle Bamias is a Pathologist-Oncologist and Professor at the Medical School of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens since October 5, 2016. He studied Medicine at the University of Athens and trained in Pathology and Pathological Oncology in Greece and the United Kingdom. He holds a PhD from the University of Athens and the University of London, where he served as a Lecturer in Pathological Oncology. At the University of Athens, he worked as a faculty member at the Therapeutic Clinic of ALEXANDRA Hospital for 17 years, while in 2019 he moved to the 2nd Propaedeutic Pathological Clinic of ATTIKON University Hospital, where he was Director for three years (9/9/2019-8/9/2022). His research interest focuses on cancers of the urinary and gynecological reproductive system, with participation in many approved studies of the last decade. He is the founder and President of the Hellenic Urogenital Cancer Research Group (EEOOGEK). He is a member of the Urogenital Cancer Scientific Group of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), of which he was the coordinator for 4 years (2016-2020). He is a member of many international collaborative groups, coordinator of international research collaborations, member of coordinating committees of international clinical trials, author of over 300 publications in international journals, including N Engl J Med, Lancet, Lancet Oncology, J Clin Oncol, with more than 18000 citations and h-index 65.
